This was not my first year at Marketo Summit, but it was perhaps one of the more memorable ones. Amidst the many conference highlights—the keynote speakers, breakout sessions, Marketo product highlights, Bizible acquisition announcement—what I enjoyed most: the people. Clients, business partners and new acquaintances from all over the world, united by Marketo who share similar marketing challenges and temporarily put their personal lives on hold to engage in three intense days of learning and networking. I love it. With that, I share with you the lighter side of Summit: pictures of people we met plus other Summit highlights, not to be confused with shameless plugs. (grin)
The Expo Hall was the place to be for serious (and some not-so-serious!) business. LinkedIn’s Awesome Sauce and Google Cloud’s cotton candy welcomed attendees into the hall, but let’s be honest, everyone was really headed to the Perkuto booth...riiiiiiight? (wink wink nudge nudge) And why not—with a $10,000 consulting package giveaway, who wouldn’t have wanted to enter our drawing? And on that note, we’re pleased to announce our winner—congratulations to Kristine Faxon of NYU who is already planning her 40 hours of Perkuto consulting time. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello, talk shop or ask that burning GDPR question.
I’m so proud of my colleague, Michelle Miles, for her breakout session, “Fearless Marketing in a GDPR World.” Who knew chocolate chip cookies, pizza, and GDPR had so much in common? Seriously, it was a great session loaded with actionable ideas—if you missed it, watch the on-demand version as well as access other helpful GDPR resources in our Ultimate GDPR Toolkit. Did you catch the Tuesday noontime TechTalk? Perkuto’s CEO, Alexandre Pelletier, presented our newest launch, Jeto. Finally—a way to give non-technical users access to Marketo, without fear of them screwing it up. Pretty cool, eh? (And MOPS teams around the world are breathing a huge sigh of relief about now!) Congrats to my chef/jefe/chief for his stellar presentation. Nice work, boss!
When first presented with the concept of renting a private suite for a Giants baseball game and inviting our top customers and VIP guests, I thought it was a really cool idea. But I have to tell you; the actual event was even better than I imagined. Baseball—up close and personal—a private suite—the chance to interact with our clients informally and get to know them outside of work—a priceless opportunity. AND…to top off the experience, a come-from-behind Giants win with two outs in the 9th inning. WOW. To say the evening was memorable is an understatement! Special thanks to PFL for partnering with us to create custom invitations including Perkuto-logoed baseballs. But most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us—I hope you had as much fun as I did!
Lastly, this year’s Summit also made me stop and reflect on how proud I am of our clients. Kudos to Revvie finalist, TELUS Health, for being recognized in the Fearless Marketer category. Keeping true to their company’s mission and placing customer needs front and center, TELUS Health used Marketo to streamline workflows for Canadian healthcare providers and shorten the enrollment process for patients. We are proud of you and so pleased to be your partner in this project.
What a Summit! I admit I’m still recovering but in a good way. This year’s experience was nothing short of amazing, which I owe to all of you. As for 2019…watch out Vegas…we’ve got big plans for you!
